i'm sure we have all had those days where we are driving, and no matter what lane we turn into, someone is in front of us causing us to drive very slowly and yell/curse as if they can hear us. this happened to me yesterday. and it was not a good start to my morning. i was so frustrated playing frogger with cars, that i passed my morning coffee stop. not good!
well, this morning i was on my way to runyon (aka dogshit park) - but thats a whole other story. anyway, i was taking my usual route to hollywood, and found myself in the same spot as yesterday, even on the same street, and getting frustrated with everyone around me. and then i remembered something my mom used to tell me- something along the lines of- maybe its the universe's way of telling you to slow down. and i did.
i noticed my breath lighten, my face relax, and my shoulders feel light. i took in the view in a new way from the top of the mountain, noticing parts i have overlooked in the past. i noticed the smell of the honeysuckle as i passed by it, i noticed how clear the sky was, i noticed the sun beat down on my skin(about time!) and then i noticed..... i had lost my car. but i just took another deep breath, slowed my pace, and enjoyed the hunt.
