Costa Rica Day 2

Volcano Paos

428pm

I woke up at 700am to take the bus to the Pais volcano this morning. Half way through my walk to the bus stop I realized my ipod was dead. I had already taken my journal and book out of my purse, so I was really going to be on my own today. About 30 minutes into our drive up the mountain the bus driver stopped at a souvenir shop, 20 minutes he says. All hell breaks loose. The older French couple demands he continues driving, they start yelling at him and threaten to call the policia. Apparently they are not too fond of this little operation where the bus driver makes a pit stop and gets commission off the tourist sales. This German guy in a tank top gets back on the bus, cigarette still hanging out of his mouth. The older French guy did not like this at all, yelling yelling, flipping each other off, aaaaahhhh! When we finally make it to the volcano I run from the bus following the arrows pointing towards the volcano 1. To get away from all the angry Europeans 2. See, at this point the clouds were just starting to roll in, I did NOT want to get stuck in the rain. There was a group of Spanish students from our bus, and one asked where I am from. Russia*there is no question mark on this keyboard. So insert question mark here. He asks. Ha no, California, Los Angeles actually. Do you know Compton +insert question mark+ or the crypts, Tupac? ahaaah I found the question mark. Anyway, that is what this kid thought of California, Tupac, Compton and the Crypts. Amazing.
No need to describe what I saw next, that's what the pictures are for.

After I had seen all to see I hurried back to the park entrance to miss the rain, I sat in the coffee shop and had chocolate coffee liquor. There was at least 2 hours before our bus would be back, no book, no ipod, no journal, not enough warm clothes. So I sat. When I finally did make it back onto the bus....I fell asleep. And when I woke up, I had no idea where I was. I had missed my stop and was on my way to San Jose, nobody left on my bus spoke English. This is when I really started thinking its a bad idea to come to a country alone when you don't know the language. Anyway I stayed on the bus until the very last stop, then found a bus to take me back into the town I am staying in, which leads me to now. I am typing away on this whiteout keyboard, about to venture back out for some food.
